Analog Skills: Future’s New Luxury

I’m starting to think that in about two decades “analog skills” will be the new status symbols things like having legible handwriting, reading physical books, doing math without a calculator or navigating without gps. We’re already seeing the early signs: vinyl records making a comeback, mechanical watches treated as heirloom pieces, film photography becoming a niche but expensive hobby. As tech gets more automated and more integrated into everyday life the ability to function without it is going to feel rare and rarity always turns into status.

Total tech dependence will make tech independence feel like craftsmanship. Like a flex. If everything becomes digital by default the analog literate might end up being the new elite class.
